What is The Fab Life Project?

The Fab Life Project is all about finding that random spot where passion and purpose intersect.

Or more accurately, it’s a documentation of all the things/questions my friends and I talk about  out loud when we think the “grown people” aren’t listening.

If you are a disgruntled twenty-something/young professional, you know the words “passion” and “purpose” are tossed around a lot these days. Especially if you’ve spent the last year trying to figure out what the heck you are supposed to do with your life . I get it. I’ve been there. Heck, I’m still there. But each day I am making progress towards figuring it all out.

What’s my secret?
I’m not the type of chica who believes in playing  by the “rules”.

Think about it.  We were  raised to believe that certain things should happen by a certain age. That these certain things  are what “normal” people do. We’re taught that work shouldn’t really be fulfilling.  Because it’s work. But then the recession (and the fall out from it) taught us the biggest lesson of all: security is a relative term that only you can really create for yourself.

Life is hard. It’s gritty, smelly, and mostly unfair. But you know what? Life is beautiful. Each breath represents a new possibility- an opportunity to go forth with purpose, passion, and sheer optimism.

I truly believe it’s all in how you see it.

The Fab Life Project (TFLP) is all about documenting the Gen Y journey.  It’s about asking questions, and thinking of innovative solutions. It’s about starting a movement towards defining happiness on our own terms.

It’s a space on the web dedicated to encouraging young professionals to keep on believin’ in the power and the beauty of their dreams, even when those dreams don’t fit into the limited box we call the “status quo”.

This is a place for all of the people who don’t want to just live for the weekend. It’s for people who believe a feeling of joy should be with you all week long, damnit!

I hope my stories/thoughts start a dialogue. But most importantly, I hope it inspires you to think about what would happen in your life, if you decide to chase your dreams.

Let’s rock. XOXO
